Here is the official press release, thanks to Nathalie. Be sure to go on Facebook and RSVP to the event!

“The success of “Duets II” is due in part to Bennett’s insistence on doing each of the 17 tracks live in the studio with his partner rather than by exchanging digital files, making the performances more intimate and spontaneous. At 85, Bennett remains a hip role model able to bring out the best in his colleagues without compromising his standards.” – Associated Press

“Each of the megastar pairings with Tony Bennett on his second disc of duets is momentous.” – US Magazine

“Bennett’s latest sounds like a fantasy birthday party in full swing, one where an outrageously starry array of guests share the mic with a host as twinkling as ever.” – The Guardian

“Bennett is such a gracious collaborator whose style seems to work with whomever he’s sharing the mike. And while the material is classic, he and his partners give the impression that singing together is a genuine pleasure.” – USA Today

“Steven Tyler’s got nothing on this guy.” – American Songwriter

Tony Bennett is kicking off his “Duets II” release day with two slam-dunk song premieres. The Hollywood Reporter has the premiere for “When You Wish Upon a Star” with pint-sized classical singer Jackie Evancho while The Boot unveiled “They Can’t Take That Away From Me” with country stud Brad Paisley. Both songs are available exclusively on Target’s deluxe edition of “Duets II”.

Also in commemoration of his 85th birthday, Tony is introducing his own KOSS signature edition stereo headphones. This signature series comes with the Tony Bennett signature laden onto the headband and chromed earcups and, more notably, a downloadable copy of the new album, “Duets II”. The Signature Edition headphones are now available at select retailers and the official KOSS website.

This past Sunday, Tony gave his debut performance at the Metropolitan Opera with special guests Aretha Franklin, Alejandro Sanz, and Elton John, as well as an introduction from former president Bill Clinton. He sang many timeless hits including “The Best Is Yet to Come”, “Maybe This Time”, and “I Left My Heart In San Francisco”, even dedicating “The Good Life” to his beloved colleague Lady Gaga. Among those in the star-studded audience were Whoopi Goldberg, Richard Gere, Katie Couric, and Robert DeNiro.

“Duets II” produced by Phil Ramone follows up “Tony Bennett Duets: An American Classic” CD, the 2006 Grammy winning best selling CD which became Bennett’s best selling recording to date. The album boosts an all-star cast of duet partners including Lady Gaga, Amy Winehouse, Mariah Carey, John Mayer, Carrie Underwood, Norah Jones, Michael Buble, Sheryl Crow, and Aretha Franklin.

She’s done the dressed-like-a-guy thing. She’s done the egg thing. She’s even done the no-makeup thing.

But she hasn’t done the Times Square ball-dropping thing – until now.

Getting a (very) early jump on its New Year’s plans, ABC announced that Lady Gaga will perform in Times Square on the 40th anniversary version of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2012.

Rockin’ Eve will also feature performances from the West Coast, with Fergie once again hosting in Los Angeles.

Grammy winner Lady Gaga is heading to Springfield for a guest gig on TV’s The Simpsons, the show’s star Yeardley Smith told Broadway.com. Smith (who voices Lisa Simpson and currently appears in off-Broadway’s Love, Loss and What I Wore) is returning to Los Angeles on August 22, her day off from the play, to record the episode with the singer.

“This is extraordinary! I’m stunned that she has time in her schedule that she’s coming to our studio to record,” Smith said. Previewing Gaga’s storyline, the actress said, “She’s playing herself, and [The Simpsons writers] describe her as the happiest, most optimistic person in the world. She comes to Springfield to try to cheer up Lisa, but she can’t.”

Lady Gaga’s appearance will air during the animated hit’s upcoming 23rd season. In a previous episode, an animated version of the “Bad Romance” singer (not voiced by Gaga) appeared on the show as Tony winner Elton John’s date to the Golden Globe Awards.

Smith should have plenty of conversational fodder, given Gaga’s love of Broadway, Smith’s current fashion-centric off-Broadway role and her plans to launch a shoe line. “I can’t wait to see what she wears!” the actress exclaimed.
